Census Forms Arriving Mid-March – Be Counted!
The U.S. Census Bureau is mailing census forms to all residents in mid-March. Residents will have until Mid-April to complete and return the form. Completing the form is easy, safe and important!
Easy - The 2010 Census has only 10 Questions.  Information about everyone who lives at a residence should be included on the completed Census form.
Safe - Per Title 13 of the United States Code, the U.S. Census Bureau is not allowed to share an individual's response with anyone, including other federal agencies or law enforcement entities.
Important - Census data determines boundaries for state and local legislative and congressional districts.  Also, Census data determines how $400 billion in federal funding (for schools, roads, senior centers and libraries - to name a few examples) is allocated to communities.  Every person is worth an average of $1000 to their community in federal funding if they are counted in the Census.

Pre-K and Kindergarten Breakfast
Mark your calendars now for March 3, 2010.  Tonalea is hosting a special breakfast event for all parents of Pre-K students and Kindergarten students at 7:45 a.m. on March 3.
This activity is designed for all parents of very young children to make educational activities that they can take home and work on with their children during the next 6 months.  Our Kindergarten and Pre-school teachers will be demonstrating activities with the parents during this event.  Please make sure you don't miss this activity.

If you have a neighbor who has a 3 or 4 year old child at home and they plan to attend Tonalea next year, please invite them to come with you to this event.  It is going to be a very fun hour for all parents of young children.
