Tonalea Elementary School: Happy Retirement!

We want to thank Mrs. Susan Slaton and Nurse Beth Michaels in their service and dedication to Tonalea and the Scottsdale Unified School District. Both ladies have spent numerous years at Tonalea and staff, students, and families will miss both of them.  We wish them the best in their next adventure.  Happy retirement!

Information About The Possible SUSD November 6th 15% Maintenance And Operations (M&O) Override Ballot Initiative

At its June 2012 meeting, the Governing Board will decide if it will call for this initiative to be placed on the November 6th ballot.

· The proposed override will replace the District’s current K-3 Override re-authorized in November 2009 and the 10% Maintenance and Operations Override re-authorized in November 2007.

Tonalea Elementary School: Five SUSD Title I Schools Receive 2012 Back to School Grants from the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust

Hohokam Traditional School and Navajo, Tavan, Tonalea and Yavapai Elementary Schools were recently awarded 2012 Back to School grants from the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust. All schools received a check for $1,200, with the exception of Yavapai, which will receive $2,300. Tonalea Elementary School: 6th graders take over Amenzone

The 6th graders at Tonalea dominated Amenzone Primal Fitness located in North Scottsdale. Over 70 students participated in an entire hour of exercise moves they could do at home using a simple car tire and then were able to listen to the motivational speaking of Amen himself.
